The Mental Health Foundation‘s theme for this year is “Movement: Moving more for our mental health”. Movement is important for our mental health, but so many of us struggle to move enough.

We know there are many different reasons for this, so this Mental Health Awareness Week we want to help people to find opportunities for movement in their daily routines. Going for a walk, putting on your favourite music and dancing around the living room, chair exercises when you’re at work – it all counts!
To help our staff move more, we have a daily lunchtime walking club which leaves from Head Office, Florencecourt, at 12.30pm Monday to Friday (weather permitting!) All staff are welcome to come along and join the group on their 1-mile walk of the grounds, whether it be a one-off, or on a regular basis, everybody is welcome to join.
We are also inviting our staff to participate in our ‘Wear it Green Day’ to support the Mental Health Foundation on Thursday 16 May 2024. All you have to do to take part is wear something green!
The green ribbon is the symbol of mental health awareness and Greentown is supporting the Mental Health Foundation NI’s work by assisting in raising awareness within the Company. If you wish to make a personal donation, green ribbon pins are available to purchase at reception in Florencecourt Head Office, and at our Lisburn and Dundalk Depots.
The money donated will help deliver vital research and develop solutions to improve prevention and treatment for the 1 in 6 people affected by mental health problems every week
